The Plaza Theatre was situated in Rissik Street, Johannesburg and was
opened in 1931.The very imposing building was designed by architect Stanley
Furner and was a welcome addition to the African Consolidated Theatres circuit.
The Plaza Theatre offered seating, contained in both stalls and circle areas,
for 1986 patrons . It also boasted a Wurlitzer 2 Manual 8 Rank theatre organ.

The Plaza as it looked when this photo was taken in April 1948.The Plaza
closed its doors as early as 1960 and the building was demolished.
